What I like about the Foobar Mp3 player is that it’s light and quick and provides great organization and playlist creation. Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint program to monitor CPU temperature.
Now Windows Vista and Windows 7 ready! (x86 and x64)
The uniqueness of it is that it shows the temperature of each individual core in each processor in your system! You can see in real time how the CPU temperature varies when you load your CPU. It’s also completely motherboard independent.
Intel and AMD recently published detailed, public information about the “DTS” (Digital Thermal Sensor), which provides much higher accuracy and more relevant temperature reading than the standard thermal diode sensors do.

Note: AMD Phenom is supported, but it does not report absolute temperature.

Volumouse is a great piece of software I use everyday. Volumouse is a free portable utility that controls the volume of your computer by clicking and holding a mouse button while scrolling up or down on the mouse wheel to change the volume. Of course these settings can be changed but this is how I have it set up.

Why would you need Volumouse you might ask?

1) Well I always have a problem with leaving the computer volume up too loud or too low and needed the quickest possible way to change the computer volume while not having to reach over to the volume knob or reaching for the volume slider in the windows taskbar.

2) I wanted to be able to control the volume of my computer with the standard 3 button mouse. Without Volumouse the only way for me to change the volume of my computer using a mouse was by using a 5 button mouse and assigning 2 of the buttons as volume buttons

Volumouse fixed all these issues and since the mouse is always in hand it’s the QUICKEST way to change the volume of the computer.

USBDiskEjector is another essential program that I use every day to safely remove USB drives quickly.

USBDiskEjector is a portable program that allows you to quickly remove USB devices in Windows. It was originally designed to remove only USB pen drives but will now eject any USB device. It can be run as a non-visual command line program or a normal gui program. Its very useful if you have a USB flash/pen drive, especially if you use a menu such as PStart or the Portable Apps launcher.

The command line options are very flexible, they can be used to:

* Eject the drive that the program is running from.
* Eject a drive by specifying a drive letter.
* Eject a drive by specifying a drive name.
* Eject a drive by specifying a partial drive name.

It provides a cheap alternative for adding more monitors to your computer. Keep all your windows open next to each other and move between then by just moving your mouse to the left or to the right.

If you have a Palm Pre or any device running the great mobile WebOS then you can get a great SNES emulator called – SuperNES! You can download SuperNES from Palm’s official app store and it runs very smoothly on the Palm Pre.  You can use on-screen controls or hardware buttons to play the games.
