Free Video Editing Software for Windows - Lightworks
Lightworks is a professional NLE system for editing and mastering of movies in 2K and 4K as well as television productions in PAL, NTSC and HD. Lightworks is a pioneer in computer-based film editing and has been in development since 1989.
Lightworks is open source and calls itself the video editor that is "designed for editors, by editors". You can see the complete features of Lightworks here.
Take a look at the tutorials here if you are just starting out or want to see how Lightworks works as a video editor. Sure beats spending hundreds or even thousands on a nice piece of video editing software!
